Biography
As the former CEO and founder of four technology start-up companies, Terry brings to Sigma Partners his considerable experience in growing successful companies from inception to profitability. Terry has broad experience building strong technical and management teams who have led their industries in the development of bold new products in optical and wireless telecommunications, high-speed chip design, and design automation software.

Background
Prior to joining Sigma, Terry was the founding CEO of StrataLight Communications, growing the company to its market leadership position during his six year tenure. StrataLight delivers 40-Gb optical transport systems and modules, and was recently acquired by Opnext, a public company. Previously, Terry was the founding CEO of WaveSpan Corporation, a developer of high-capacity wireless IP bridge products. WaveSpan pioneered the application of high-order modulation and coding methods in 5-GHz wireless data transmission. WaveSpan was acquired by Proxim, a public company. Before WaveSpan, Terry was CEO of HDL systems, a developer of MIPS processor cores for mobile computing applications. HDL was acquired by Philips Semiconductor. Prior to HDL, Terry was the founding CEO of BioCAD, a developer of computer-aided chemistry software solutions. BioCad was acquired by Pharmacopeia, a public company. Terry founded and was CEO of Tangent Systems, a leader in the development of high density ASIC design automation software, used by most of the world’s largest semiconductor companies for cell-based and sea-of-gates design. Tangent was acquired by Cadence Design Systems, a public company.
